A Sweepstakes App Routine
As I sit in my favorite chair, drinking my coffee, a familiar sound of coins jingling rings through my home. This is part of my morning routine. Every day, I log in to 12 sweepstakes apps and claim my free money. In a time when every cent counts, my family has gotten used to this ritual. My son even asks, “You don’t actually get to keep the money, do you?” I sure do. Let me tell you how it works.
Many states have restrictions on real-money gambling apps. What companies do is offer actual money play as a no-cost sweepstakes entry. You can claim these free sweepstakes entries in various ways. The main — and by far fastest — way is simply by logging in every day. It just takes a few seconds of my time, and voilà! Free money to play with. Once I play that money on their site, I can then cash it out through PayPal. Unlike some of the other online gambling casinos I’ve played before, these sweepstakes apps don’t require you to roll the money over multiple times before turning the credits into actual spendable cash. Only one playthrough is required as long as you meet the cash-out threshold.
I happen to have an iPhone, but this can be done on any smartphone. I add a link to each site or app in a folder and then go through them one by one until they’ve all been logged into. I play the credits earned at my leisure throughout the day. It’s nice when waiting in line at the bank or just chilling, watching TV. Nothing beats the feeling of a win and being able to hit the cash-out threshold. I even go so far as to have my winnings go into a separate Chase Bank account so I can see how much I’ve earned. Chase is offering a special right now, and it’s one of the things I always try to take advantage of. If you’re looking for a bank where you can manage all of your accounts in one easy app, this might be the bank for you. $300 bonus when opening a qualifying Chase checking account.
The games are fun. They’re games I’m familiar with, like Solitaire and Bingo. There’s a new one I found where you shoot multicolored bubbles and compete against other players to see who can clear the board the fastest. I had never played a game like that before, but I quite enjoy it. Some of these sweepstakes apps look like online slot rooms where you can play digital slot machines. Those are fun too 🙂
The best part is that the way I do it, I’m playing with their money. Remember when I said that states have certain restrictions on gambling apps, and the only way around it is to frame it as a sweepstakes? Sweepstakes are required to have free entries available upon writing in. Many of the apps offer up to five dollars per postcard that you submit, and you can submit an unlimited number. The catch is, you have to handwrite all of it in a certain format. You also have to provide the stamp. With today’s postage rates and the cost of things like pens and envelopes, it can cut into your profit, but I will say I’ve made a fair amount of money this way when I have the time — and when my aging hands allow me to put in the work.
I know these apps aren’t for everyone, but MizMoolah.com, the site I run, will share all the ways that I have or currently do make a little bit of cash to help make ends meet. I am aware that some people have addictive personalities and might not be able to stop themselves from depositing their own money to play these games. I know I’m not going to get rich doing this, nor is this a get-rich-quick type of hustle, but these days, every penny counts. I’ve been on leave from work to take care of two ailing parents for almost a year now, so not only do I pinch pennies, I spend what extra time I have finding ways to earn a little more dough.
It’s not completely free from effort on my part. Before they allow you to cash out, they want to verify your identity. Many of them required me to submit a driver’s license or ID card as well as a headshot. The headshot was taken within their app — you just take a picture using the app, and it frames your face and matches it up with the picture on your ID. I don’t look anything like my horrible DMV photo, but it passed muster anyway.
Here are 5 of my favorites. I will rank these apps in order of my own personal enjoyment, ease of use, and how much I’ve been able to cash out over the years. It’s up to you if you want to try them, but here are my recommendations in order:
This app offers a great variety of games and has an easy cash-out process. It features two types of virtual currencies: Gold Coins and Sweepstakes Coins. The Sweepstakes Coins can be redeemed for prizes, including cash and gift cards. Additionally, the platform has a progressive jackpot that can be triggered on any spin across all games. I would also add that the 24/7 customer support is stellar.
This is another really fun sweepstakes app. They offer lots of daily promotions and a plethora of ways to earn that free credit including a great welcome bonus.
If you like bingo, this is the app for you. It is a skill-based bingo mobile app that gives you the opportunity to participate in free or paid tournaments, using money collected every day. It has a low cash-out threshold and holds a strong rating on the iOS and Android app stores.
This is another fun one. They give you a welcome bonus to get you started, which can be played and cashed out. The games are fun, and it even includes a few table games that you might find in a brick-and-mortar gaming establishment. While the list of games isn’t as extensive as some of the other apps, it is easy to use and very straightforward to cash out. Like the others, you only have to roll over the money once to redeem it.
If you enjoy solitaire, this is a great app for you. It’s similar to traditional Klondike solitaire, where you can cash out for real money. It’s available on both iPhone and Android. The app has a high rating in both stores and requires some skill, unlike some of the other apps mentioned above. I grew up playing solitaire, so I’m pretty good at it. It’s worth a shot even if you’ve never played, because if you’re only using the credits they give you, you’ve got nothing to lose.
Thank you for the read. 🙂
While these apps may seem like they are designed to draw you into their glitz and glamour, there are some real side hustle opportunities there. They may not be the ‘Make $3,000 a month playing on your phone’ type you see in YouTube or Facebook ads, but the hustle is real.
